GERRY HARRINGTON At Home Private Label GHCD001. Far from a newcomer, Gerry Harrington has been recording for almost two decades with names like Eoghan O'Sullivan, Nancy Conescu, Charlie Piggott and even the legendary Peter Horan, but this is his solo debut. Whether you take the title as a belated celebration of his return to Irish shores, or as an indication of his comfortable relaxed style, or even as a formal invitation to spend time with this exceptional musician, At Home is a welcome addition to the list of Irish fiddle CDs. Indeed, so sweet is the sound on this recording that it was.

At Home Gerry Harrington.

Traditional Irish Fiddle Player, Teacher, Sound Engineer. New Solo Album At Home. The sheer sweep of the soloist buoys this exceptional collection throughout its generous 68 minutes, with Harrington its anchor, inhabiting each tune set as if his bow hand was tethered to it since birth. Harrington’s greatest gift is his willingness to let the tunes themselves do the talking.

Peter Horan & Gerry Harrington - Crane Bar Galway. Gerry Harrington At The Alma Cafe, Capetown, South Africa. An air I composed for a friend that moved on from this world which I named Lament For A Friend. Just a few of my recordings from my Album "At Home". The Bank of the Danube - Gerry Harrington. The Coolea Jig - Gerry Harrington. The Upperchurch Polkas - Gerry Harrington. The Ladys of Leinster - Gerry Harrington. Reavey's Hornpipe/Saults Hornpipe/ The New Century - Gerry Harrington.

Gerry Harrington is a simply amazing fiddler. In a country where great musicians are commonplace, he stands out. Known both for his technical mastery, and the sweet lilting beauty of his style, he is much in demand for festivals, workshops, and concerts. Gerry grew up in County Kerry under the influence of some of the great players of the day, Joe Thoma, Connie O'Connell, and Dennis McMahon. In the 1980s he lived in the Chicago area, playing tunes with Johnny McGreevy, Liz Carroll and others

Gerry Harrington: fiddle. Now 80 years old, the remarkable Horan may well sound even better this time around. One only has to listen to the third track, a great medley of reels played solo by Horan with uncommon gusto, to wonder if there’s something different about the water around Gurtin.
