New Routes ‎(LP, Album, Mon). If you absolutely had to own a Lulu album, this one is far and away the one you should have. From the early days of Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, The Swampers and Duane Allman back her on this collection of covers from Barry and Maurice Gibb to Mac Davis to Dave Mason to Alabama session man Eddie Hinton. Some amazing musicianship on here, down-home funky southern soul. Don't be fooled by her pretty English pop "To Sir With Love" days, this is her "Dusty In Memphis" record and it cooks even harder than that album! Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.

Released January 1, 1970. New Routes Tracklist. 1. Marley Purt Drive Lyrics. 4. After All (I Live My Life) Lyrics.

Lulu still has that thick, soulful voice, but at times the way it sits on the arrangements may make the listener think of an Anne Murray record. On the positive side, the cover of the Bee Gees' "Marley Purt Drive" is a rollicking version of one of the Gibbs brothers' best, and largely forgotten, songs
