Originally released in 1969, this LP features music by BBC Radiophonic Workshop members Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson alongside David Vorhaus, an American born composer and musician with whom they formed the experimental electronic band White Noise. It was put out by the Standard Music Library label, set up in 1968 by Bucks Music and London Weekend Television, which supplied production music for use in TV, commercials, radio and film. Two of the tracks are co-written by the pair, who also worked together to set up the organisation and studio project Unit Delta Plus, which was extensively involved in the promotion and exploration of electronic music.

David Vorhaus is an American-born classical bass player with a background in both physics and electronic engineering. He co-founded the band The White Noise in London in 1969 with Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson. Though Derbyshire and Hodgson left the group in the early 70s, Vorhaus continued to record under the name The White Noise. In 1969 The White Noise released the groundbreaking album An Electric Storm on Island Records.

Friday, November 21, 2008. Delia Derbyshire, Dudley Simpson, Brian Hodgson, & David Vorhaus - ESL 104/The Tomorrow People. P roduced by the UK's Thames Television between 1973 and 1979, The Tomorrow People was a sci-fi drama show for kids that ran for eight series. If you are a fan of early tal music then I can't recommend this enough. This contains some of Derbyshire's finest work. Delia Derbyshire as you rightly stated was incredibly innovative and deeply imaginative, but she does get an awful lot of attention.
