Frank Zappa 's liner notes for Freak Out! name-checked an enormous breadth of musical and intellectual influences, and he seemingly attempts to cover them all on the second Mothers of Invention album, Absolutely Free.

Absolutely Free is the second studio album by the American rock band the Mothers of Invention, led by Frank Zappa, released in 1967. Absolutely Free is, again, a display of complex musical composition with political and social satire. The band had been augmented since Freak Out! by the addition of woodwinds player Bunk Gardner, keyboardist Don Preston, rhythm guitarist Jim Fielder and drummer Billy Mundi.

Frank Zappa Absolutely Free New Vinyl LP Album The Mothers of Invention. The album is divided into two parts, with tracks 1-7 being the "Absolutely Free" section (A side on vinyl) and tracks 10-15 being the "The Mothers Of Invention American Pageant", B side on vinyl. On the CD re- master, the gaps is filled with the single "Big Leg Emma" and its B side, "Why Don'tcha Do Me Right?".

ZAPPA, MOTHERS – ABSOLUTELY FREE. Zappa, mothers – plastic people. Az Absolutely Free lemezhez annakidején megjelent a teljes szövegkönyv (ugye Pauline Butcher írta le), de nem a lemezben hanem külön megrendelhető kis füzetkében ( küldj pénzt! ). Az alábbiakban ennek fordítása következik, nagyrészt az International Times magazinban megjelent változat alapján.

  • This, Freak Out! and We're Only In It For the Money make one of the best trilogies in music history. When I was younger I really didn't get this. I had no idea of the complexities that were hidden in the chaos. Now I hear the discipline it takes to pull off good "noise".When I was first getting into Zappa I would put a few discs in on shuffle. It worked for Freak Out but don't do it with this one. Running order here is very important otherwise it just doesn't make sense. Like side 2 on Abbey Road. No matter how brief even a glimpse of Beefheart is a welcome thing. This is one of those albums I can't really explain. The direction switches too fast. Once you get the joke you can appreciate the talent, which abounds among these freaks. Should be required listening.

  • A crazy, swirling eclectic mess of music and madness.
