Robert Roland Chudnick (September 27, 1927 – May 27, 1994), known professionally as Red Rodney, was an American jazz trumpeter. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he became a professional musician at 15, working in the mid-1940s for the big bands of Jerry Wald, Jimmy Dorsey, Georgie Auld, Elliot Lawrence, Benny Goodman, and Les Brown. He was inspired by hearing Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker to change his style to bebop, moving on to play with Claude Thornhill, Gene Krupa, and Woody Herman.

The result was this "Then & Now" appeared in 2006 in very limited quantities. The CD features 5 songs taken from their two Eighties albums, the 5 new tracks (which most were composed in the '80s) plus 4 'bonus from the early days', all of them being the remaining tracks from the first EP. Beau Coup played classic mid-80s American AOR with that polished and clean sound we all love. Long time American AOR fans already known Beau Coup - their second album was featured here at the very beginning of this blog, now deleted - as one of the finest this genre offered, especially speaking about indie acts. But believe me, Beau Coup does not sound 'indie' at all; songwriting, musicianship and production are second to none.

Then and Now is a 2004 greatest hits compilation album by The Who released internationally by Polydor Records and by Geffen Records in the United States. It features 18 Who classics and two new tracks-"Real Good Looking Boy" and "Old Red Wine"-which were the first Who originals since "Dig" from Pete Townshend's 1989 album The Iron Man. "Real Good Looking Boy" is a tribute to Elvis Presley, and "Old Red Wine" is a tribute to former band member John Entwistle, who died in 2002. The album was re-released in 2007 and replaced "Old Red. The album was reissued in 2007, with two alterations in the track listing: "Baba O'Riley" – 5:00. It's Not Enough" – 4:05.

Rodney Crowell will release 'Christmas Everywhere' on November 2nd. Jack Spencer/Courtesy of New West Records. Featuring a dozen original tunes by the Texas-born tunesmith, the album, produced by Dan Knobler, features guest appearances from Vince Gill, Lera Lynn, Brennen Leigh, and poet Mary Karr and includes songs co-written with his daughters and granddaughters. Highlights include the title track, a duet with Lera Lynn, featuring a dream sequence in which a child asks Santa for a time machine to go back and prevent John Lennon’s murder.
