Faith & Family is the first studio album by Jon Micah Sumrall. BEC Recordings released the album on February 24, 2015. Sumrall worked with Dave Lubben, in the production of this album.

Faith & Family, 2015. Faith Hope Love, 04:03. How You Love Me, 03:29. What I'm Trying to Say, 04:48.

Faith & Family veers away from electric guitar-centric rock in favor of an acoustic sound dressed up with tasty daubs of cello, lap steel, and xylophone. More importantly, it gives Sumrall room to deliver praise to the Savior ( King & Savior, Psalm 56, Soul on Fire ) and offer pledges of marital devotion ( What I’m Trying to Say, How You Love Me, Picture ) with a heartfelt intimacy that’s sometimes obscured in Kutless’ more hard-charging moments. Faith & Family Jon Micah Sumrall. Taking a break from his lead-vocalist duties with the Christian pop/rock unit Kutless, Jon Micah Sumrall gets personal on his first solo album. Faith & Family veers away from electric guitar-centric rock in favor of an acoustic sound dressed up with tasty daubs of cello, lap steel, and xylophone.

Jon Micah Sumrall's choice to do a solo album is, honestly, a little surprising. Not that solo albums from lead singers of bands is an uncommon thing; I just, for one reason or another, never really imagined Sumrall doing one. I do appreciate the things he did differently to give it some flair, like using instruments such as cellos and lap steel guitars, and absolutely no electric guitars, which do help distinguish it from Kutless. Other than those exceptions, however, Faith & Family is a pretty by-the-book Christian contemporary pop album
