It was recorded in 2011 and produced by Jeff Bhasker. After signing to a new label, the band began to work on Some Nights for over nine months throughout 2011. We Are Young" was released as the lead single from the album and bolstered the band to mainstream success with the aid of television and advertising

Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your Fun. collection. their fame has been rather short lived, and they have fallen out of the general consciousness of 2017 as they have not released another album and all of the members have gone on to do other things. Maybe they could do a come back tour in 10 years time for all their teeny-bopper fans, that is of course if teeny-boppers existed in 2012.

oh woah, oh woah, oh woah oh oh oh woah, oh woah, oh woah oh oh.

Released via Fueled by Ramen, the 2012 album was produced by Jeff Bhasker, who molded fu. s sound into the amalgamation of urban hip-hop influence, indie pop, and theatric rock that is present on the record. Lyrically plaintive, and vocally powerful, Some Nights explores the dichotomous relationship between loneliness and romance, and the grey area in between.

Album · 2012 · 11 Songs. His voice reaches and stretches, always with enough plaintive sincerity and sparkling energy that it avoids saccharine pop purgatory with room to spare. Producer Jeff Bhasker (who produced Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) knows the meaning of the word.

The Some Nights Songfacts reports that Fun named their album after this track as they feel it best represents not only their entire record, but also where they're at as a band. Carry On. fun. Why Am I the One. Pompeii.

s debut album Aim and Ignite was an interesting blend of seemingly divergent styles topped by a healthy dose of grandiose ambition and performed with a precise abandon. The trio made an album that was truly progressive and also super catchy and fun. The follow-up, Some Nights, ramps up the ambition and sonic bombast, but also manages to be even more powerful and impressive

  • If I had to describe Some Nights in one word, that word would be: different. At least, it's different compared to what I normally have to listen to. My older brother will ONLY listen to the mainstream pop music that appears on the radio, plus I go to high school, so there is no escaping the shiny, manufactured, painfully cheesy pop songs that all resemble each other. You turn on the radio, and you either hear I Love You, alcohol, sex, butts, or self-empowerment anthems. I bought this album last year, but tonight I decided to have another listen, and I'm really glad I did. Fun. used a wide variety of instruments to add some colour and personality to the music, including brass instruments in 'One Foot'. Another aspect I really liked was the vocals. I remember a few years ago I asked my guitar teacher to teach me 'We Are Young' and he said "Is this that guy with the weird voice?" Honestly, I love Nate Ruess' voice. It's refreshingly unique, and powerful, and honest. However, my one criticism for this album would be the use of auto-tune. Now, I actually like some of the uses of auto-tune in this album, such as the auto-tune in 'Some Nights', and I appreciate that Fun. uses auto-tune for stylistic reasons rather than to lazily cover up inadequate vocals like so many mainstream artists do. However, there are some points, particularly in 'It Gets Better' and 'Stars', where his voice is practically drowned in auto-tune and I would have preferred if they used slightly less of it. It's actually for this reason that 'It Gets Better' is my least favourite song on the album, though I wouldn't call it terrible. My favourite song on the album is the title track, 'Some Nights'. Powerful vocals, great lyricism, pounding drums that instantly get me into the mood, and auto-tune that I actually like all create a freaking amazing song that I love. I'm really glad this song was big in 2012. I loved it then, and now that I've become much fussier with my music, I still love it. Overall, this was a pretty great album, despite some over-use of auto-tune. It was very different, and I really appreciate that. It's also pretty clear that Fun. are proud of their songs, and they should be. I'm going to have to listen to their first album soon, and I'm really looking forward to any music they release in the future.
