Emmett Gill & Jesse Smith: The Rookery. This is a lovely unaccompanied duet recording by London-born piper and Baltimore-born fiddler. The two musicians play a nice mixture of well-known and somewhat obscure tunes taken from varied sources, from old tune collections to the recordings of fiddle and pipes masters such as B. Casey, W. Clancy, S. Ennis, T. Peoples, L. Rowsome, P. Cronin, J. Morrison, and P. O’Keeffe. I knew Jesse Smith is a skillful fiddler but didn’t know he’s such a nice fiddler to play with a piper until listening to this recording

) The Mountain Groves: The Ace and Deuce of Piping, Vol, 2. Na Píobairí Uilleann.

Here is a sample of some of the music being produced by Emmett Gill and Jesse Smith who have a new album out at the moment called the rookery. They play uilleann pipes and fiddle respectively. I had the pleasure of knowing and listening to Emmett as a young piper many years ago in London and his talent was self evident even at that time. The album features a range of tunes that they have been playing for over a decade, with some newer ones thrown in for good measure

Manic by EMMETT BROWN, released 01 January 2016 1. Intro 2. Witness Me 3. Way Of The World 4. I'm Coming For You 5. Redline 6. Main Theme 7. Out Of Time. Vayu Emmett Brown gives us yet another brooding and chilling darkwave/cyberpunk album filled to the brim with 80's thriller nostalgia.

Emmett Gill has been a piper and member of Na Píobairí Uilleann from an early age. He began piping at the London Pipers’ Club in Camden Town. He has regularly taught for Na Píobairí Uilleann and served as a board member from 2011. His professional background is in administration and financial services. Emmett has made two CDs, The Mountain Groves (2007) and a duet with fiddle player Jesse Smith The Rookery (2012).
