As a founding member of the legendary German avant-garde ensemble Can, Holger Czukay is widely recognized as a founding father of experimental rock & roll. After his acrimonious split from the band, Czukay swore he'd never play live again. But the sounds of jungle, techno, and trip-hop rekindled his interest in the club scene, so when Dr. Walker (of Air Liquide) invited Czukay to join him on-stage during an underground party in Cologne, Germany, he was ready

HOLGER CZUKAY is a Krautrock, Progressive Rock artist from Germany.

Holger Czukay (Holger Schüring, 24 March 1938 – 5 September 2017) was a German musician. He co-founded the influential rock group Can in 1968. He was a singer and played bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, percussion, drums, and French horn. He was born in the Free City of Danzig (now Gdansk). Czukay studied under Karlheinz Stockhausen from 1963 to 1966.

Clash is a collaborative album between Holger Czukay and Dr. Walker, released in 1997 through Sideburn Recordings. On the album, Can took sonic inspiration from sources as diverse as jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, Czukay reflects that the album was an attempt in achieving a mystery musical world from light to darkness and return. The group has referred to the album as their magic record, the tracks have been described as having an air of mystery and forbidden secrets.

Holger Czukay (born Holger Schüring, 24 March 1938) is a German musician, probably best known as a co-founder of the krautrock group Can. Described by critic Jason Ankeny as "successfully bridg the gap between pop and the avant-garde," Czukay is also notable for creating early important examples of ambient music, for exploring "world music" well before the term was coined, and for being a pioneer of sampling. Czukay was born in the Free City of Danzig (since 1945 Gdańsk, Poland), from where his family was expelled by Poles.
