It was released in Ireland on 23 May 2003, in the United Kingdom and Europe on 26 May 2003, and reissued on 17 November 2003 through Polydor. Girls Aloud worked with a variety of musicians and producers on Sound of the Underground, which was largely inspired by 1980s music.

The Sound of Music is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Set in Austria on the eve of the Anschluss in 1938, the musical tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family while she decides whether to become a nun. She falls in love with the children, and eventually their widowed father, Captain von Trapp

Sound of Silence is also another song, sung by Dami Im, in the European Song Contest 2016. She represented Australia, a country that is not a part of Europe, and almost won the contest. Australians are however sitting glued to the TV-screen to wach the show in late spring (northern hemisphere) every year. It is a very popular show among Australians, so they applied for the first time for the European Song Contest 2015  . The sound of thunder is lightning when viewed relatively. Absoluteness is the basic quality of Spiritual silence. Silence can have many adjectives added to it than just spiritual.

Really the key to 'The Sound of Silence' is the simplicity of the melody and the words, which are youthful alienation. It's a young lyric, but not bad for a 21-year-old. It's not a sophisticated thought, but a thought that I gathered from some college reading material or something. The band Gregorian covered this on their album Masters of Chant - as Gregorian chant. Nevermore also covered it on the album Dead Heart In A Dead World, and the German band Atrocity covered it on their 2000 album Gemini. As for their version's quality: Many people feel the band name was appropriate.

As for The Sound Of Music, it is another excellent re-interpretation of a much-loved classic. For instance, on Sixteen Going On Seventeen changing the last lines 'I am seventeen going on eighteen, I'll take care of you' to ' I am sixty, going on seventy, I'll take care of you' gives this song of youthful awakening a sinister and cynical dynamic. I'm almost one hundred per cent sure that Laibach dedication to "The sound of music" as an album was influenced by Slavoj Žižek annalisis of the film and particularly of the crucial and edgy dissection of "Climb ev'ry mountain" song in his witty film "Pervert's guide to ideology". Laibach music here guards that sentiment and dissonant reality whenever you listen to it, very similar in away to "Volk" where hymns are reissued with a twist that makes you feel what lies beyond the mere music.

The Sound of Silence", originally "The Sounds of Silence", is a song by the American music duo Simon & Garfunkel. The song was written by Paul Simon over a period of several months in 1963 and 1964  . According to Garfunkel, the song was first developed in November, but Simon took three months to perfect the lyrics, which he claims were entirely written on February 19, 1964. Garfunkel once summed up the song's meaning as "the inability of people to communicate with each other, not particularly internationally but especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other.

Julie Andrews: The Sound of Christmas (1987) (TV Movie) Julie Andrews, returning to Salzburg, Austria, where "The Sound of Music" was filmed, is the subject of this holiday special.
