Wilson is heard with an all-star septet which includes trumpeter Jonah Jones, altoist Benny Carter and tenor saxophonist Ben Webster backing four fine vocals from the forgotten but talented Nan Wynn, taking four piano solos in 1938-39, playing "Lady Be Good" and accompanying three fine Helen Ward vocals with an octet in 1940, and jamming with a trio in 1941. Throughout these lesser-known performances, Wilson is heard at his prime, setting the standard for swing piano.

Teddy Wilson (born November 24, 1912, Austin, Texas, USA – died July 31, 1986, New Britain, Connecticut, USA) was an American jazz pianist. Described by critic Scott Yanow as "the definitive swing pianist".
