Through the Looking Glass is the eighth studio album by English alternative rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. The album is a collection of cover versions. It was co-produced with Mike Hedges and released in March 1987 on Polydor. Through the Looking Glass was preceded by the single "This Wheel's on Fire". It was the second and final album recorded with guitarist John Valentine Carruthers. Some of their cover songs were praised by the original artists themselves.

Through the Looking-Glass is a sequel to Lewis Carrol's popular fantasy novel Alice Adventures in Wonderland. Alice accidentally looking at a glass hanged on wall and found a fantasy world where all the things looks like mirror image and one need a mirror to read a book found in this world. She also found a chess board and all the coins comes alive as mini creatures which could fit in her hand. Another great fantasy read for Children and adults.

Through the Looking Glass is more than a time killer but less than a total success - if anything it's seen more now as a chance for the band to refocus before ditching Carruthers and creating the stunning Peepshow. But there have been far worse efforts from other performers in this vein, and there's a cool, giddy fun at work throughout that makes it a fine listen. The inspired range of covers reaches from glam-era landmarks (Roxy Music's "Sea Breezes," John Cale's "Gun") to Billie Holiday's sorrowful touchstone "Strange Fruit" to, in one.

UniqueUserName I've got the grip-sweats bad for this one. What a superb record. Minimal music, but not ambient and definitely avoids the dreaded new age. A singular beast without genus or comparison. mehdi-rouchiche My holy grail. Thomas Saulnier The new liner notes speak beautifully about this release, more than I ever could. Suffice it to say that this is an album of which you want to live inside. molayo Music so beautiful it makes me cry.

The album consists of 11 (no bonus tracks) covers recorded in Simon Phillips's studio Coy Sound. The Bob Marley song Could you be loved is the first single from the album I LOVE the Steakhouse but Simon wanted to do it at his house so we did. .
